Ásdís Sif Bio

Ásdís Sif’s work explores the intersection of magical realism and natural wonder through transformation, disguise, and ritual.

These themes play a central role in her performance based artwork while the use of multi channel video, virtual, augmented and live streaming technology enable an interactive discourse.

Ásdís received her BFA with honors from the School of Visual Arts New York in 2000, She received her MA in New Genres from UCLA in 2004.

Ásdís Sif currently lives and works in Reykjavík, Iceland.

**ÓMUN**

Born from over three decades of individual experimental practice in Icelandic poetry, spoken word, and atmospheric ritualistic music, the trio Ómun brings together Ásdís Sif (vocals), Nico Guerrero (guitar/keyboard), and Tristan Zand (bowed bass) for a unique sonic pilgrimage. Revisiting pagan legends and animistic rituals, the group explores Icelandic narratives through improvised words and music
